Nintendo of Canada reveals the price of the GameCube for those living in the great white north.
Nintendo of Canada, today, announced the price of the GameCube for the Canadian market. So, cutting to the chase, the GameCube will cost $299.95 Canadian. This is actually a bit of a shock. When PGC ran this price thorugh a curreny converter the price in US Dollars is $193.37. The GameCube is actually cheaper in Canada. Also, the system will launch on November 5th in Canada. The games will cost $69.95 Canadian, which is $45.09 US. To compare, the PS2 costs $449.95 Canadian ($290.05 US).
Peter MacDougall, Nintendo of Canada's president, had this to say:
"The response to Nintendo GameCube at E(3) was phenomenal. Game developers expressed over and over that our games are of unmatched quality, especially Luigi's Mansion, Super Smash Bros. Melee and Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II. Pikmin also spiked interest for its incredibly unique game content and approach. This is all very exciting."
