Nintendo’s new role-playing game sees a big dip in its second week.
After Xenoblade’s respectable debut last week, many were hoping that good word-of-mouth and additional shipments would keep the game from dropping too far down the charts. Unfortunately for those fans it didn’t happen, as Xenoblade falls from the top spot to number 5 in the preliminary rankings.
Elsewhere on the charts, Super Mario Galaxy 2 climbs back into the top spot for a third week, while Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective from Capcom and Art Academy from Nintendo land in the second and third spots, respectively. Perhaps the reason why these games saw big debuts may be related to the recent price cut for all the Nintendo DS models in Japan.
Falling slightly down the chart into the fourth position was Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City, while Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 falls a mere one spot to the sixth spot. A new Tamagotchi game for the Nintendo DS debuts at number seven, while World Soccer for the PS3 dips to the eighth spot. Rounding out the top 10 are Tomodachi Collection at number nine and Hakuouki for the PS3.
