Splinter Cell Double Agent to be a Wii launch title; two launch racing games to include a Wii steering wheel shell.
IGN Wii has a double-dose of Wii info on their site. First up, Ubisoft has confirmed that a Wii version of Splinter Cell Double Agent will be available with the launch of the new Nintendo console. This news means that the French publisher will have eight games available on Wii's launch day (for the forgetful, here are the other seven). As we don't yet know when the hardware will be released, the exact ship date of the game is also not known. The GameCube-inclusive current-gen versions of Double Agent will be released in late October, a week after the Xbox 360 version.
One of Ubi's other launch day offerings comes in the form of GT Pro Series, a racing game developed by MTO that looks to be in the same vein as one of their previous Japan-only efforts, GT Cube. IGN has learned from an interview with one of the game's producers that Ubi plans on bundling a steering wheel shell with the title. The Thrustmaster-branded wheel has a compartment for the controller to snap into, allowing for all controller buttons to be accessed while using it. By turning the wheel, the controller tilts, which in turn controls the action on-screen. One of Ubisoft's other launch racers, Monster 4x4 Wold Circuit, will also include the wheel as part of the standard package.
PGC will bring you further details on these two new developments as soon as we get them.
